Hoessein studied Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands and followed a specialisation track in Structural Engineering. His interests go out to advanced technology, innovative materials, and automated engineering.

He worked as a structural engineer with projects in earthquake engineering and automation at Royal HaskoningDHV for approximately 4 years, and is currently positioned as a lecturer in Structural and Building Engineering at Delft University of Technology.

An earthquake analysis in which a three-storey high building is excited to Soil-Structure-Interaction vibrations.
Finding new shapes of large structures with shape optimisation procedures in order to obtain zero-force actuation.

Moreover, Hoessein is greatly focused on working in areas and communities that are highly in need of engineers in order to improve the standards of living. For this reason he also became a member of the Engineers Without Borders team in The Netherlands, and is currently involved with the following projects:

Liberia - Africa

Building an affordable Cinema and Art house for the local community.

Togo - Africa

Designing a smart energy payment system that can be used for the available electricity grid.

Hoessein aims to literally build a better world for all. Therefore, he deeply believes that engineers play a large (if not the largest) part in achieving this goal.
